Dubai Desert

Dubai desert is not only surrounding Dubai; it is also hosting several great programs, which makes it valuable for everyone. Dubai desert is also one of the most beautiful desert of the Middle East, thank to the distinctively beautiful color of sand here and to the beautiful sand dunes that offer a great chance for tourists to take photos or to use them for other sportier activities.

Dubai is a desert city, which means that although the thousands of buildings keep pushing the desert outside of the city; Dubai is surrounded by the huge desert that is part of the locals’ lifestyle as such. The Dubai desert is used as an attraction and as a place ideal for holding sports events such as camel races and dune bashing with 4×4 SUVs. It is especially the camel races that are worth seeing and they are held almost every day. Camel racing as the favorite sport of the Sheikh of Dubai is very respected and held as the national sport of Dubai.

The Dubai desert is also great for holding events for tourists. There are several sorts of Dubai desert Safaris organized by hundreds of travel agents. These tours can last a couple of hours and there are also overnight tours which include a folklore Bedouin dinner with Bedouin dancers, music, or belly dancers. For this program, the Bedouin tents are set and tourists will have a cozy night in one of them. The overnight Desert safaris are great and they are highly suggested for everyone with the exception of families with pregnant wives, babies, or toddlers because of the hard drive in the desert.

These are some new types of desert-connected activities as well, such as dune surfing which needs a specific type of board, which is the best to use for riding on the sand. There are specific tours of such, teaching tourists how to do dune surfing. Another great program involving the Dubai desert is the Hot Air Balloon Flight that starts from the desert early in the morning and shows you the beauty of the sand and the beauty of the nearby lying Dubai’s panoramic view.

Upon visiting the Wadis or Oases the merchants of old times had to walk through the hot Dubai desert on their way to Saudi Arabia and also Dubai served as a transit city for all the pilgrims arriving from the Southern lying states on their pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest place on Earth for Muslim people. Dubai has a special program, which includes visiting the most well-known Wadis within the Dubai desert, and during this tour, you can get to know a lot about the old days of Dubai and the history of the United Arab Emirates too.

The Dubai desert although it is wholly infertile soil serves Dubai in many ways. The sand of the desert is used for building houses or serves as a base for building roads and it gives Dubai a great touristic value. When in Dubai, do not miss seeing the Dubai desert.

Jumeirah Beach

Jumeirah Beach is the popular beachside of Dubai generally meaning the New Dubai areas of the city. Although the Jumeirah beach is long it has some areas which are extremely popular for everyone.

In fact, Jumeirah Beach is the one and only beach in Dubai. Although there are several seaside areas of the city, it is the Jumeirah beach, which is available for people to have a good swim. Of course, things are never as easy as they may seem. The beachside is either a beachside park or a private beach of a hotel, or a so-called public beach. There are two public beaches in Dubai. It means that although you can reach the beach otherwise and at other parts, you will find nothing, no trees, no umbrellas or sunbeds, absolutely nothing, which may leave you vulnerable to bathe there alone. This will make you stick with the seaside parks too, such as the Jumeirah Beach Park, or the Al Mamzar Beach Park that is located on the brand new reconstructed part of Deira, by an artificial bayside, which makes the whole beach look more beautiful. Am Mamzar Beach Park is right at the border of the city of Sharjah which means that it often receives visitors from both cities.

Returning to Jumeirah beach in real the beach starts from the Dubai Maritime City, which is almost the Old Town part of Dubai. And as every seaside city in the world, Jumeirah Beach has its lows and peaks in quality and outlook. One of the most popular parts of Jumeirah beach is arguably the small beachside which lies in-between the Souk Madinat and the huge Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Here, there is the Wild Wadi water park and a beautiful steady view of the vessel-shaped Burj Al Arab luxury hotel. Therefore, by this all, you can imagine how trendy this part of Jumeirah Beach has become. The second trendiest part of Jumeirah Beach comes right after the Palace (which may be the residence of the Sheikh of Dubai) and we get to see the landside of the eccentric Palm Jumeirah Island, with lots of hotels at its feet. Then comes the long private beach of Dubai Marina where you can find some of the top quality resorts of Dubai. This part of Jumeirah Beach has made a world record with the highest number of beachside skyscrapers. Although the Dubai Marina has been made to double the quantity of water in its area with a huge artificial bay in-between the houses, this is not for swimming but for boats.

Jumeirah Beach ends when it reaches Jebel Ali, which long time ago counted as only a closely lying village. Today, it is an official outer district of Dubai with the largest industrial port in the world and some pretty beachsides which had been monopolized by the huge Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa which is widely called the best resort of Dubai.

Aquaventure Dubai

Aquaventure water park is part of the huge Atlantis the Palm hotel complex that is arguably one of the largest and most popular hotels of Dubai, standing on the outer rim of Palm Jumeirah Island, giving visitors and residents the most beautiful panoramic view of the sea surrounding its huge building.

Atlantis, the Palm has its own Marine and Water park segment that encompass the following: Dolphin Bay, Aquaventure, The Lost Chambers, Atlantis Dive Centre, Kerzner Marine Foundation

Aquaventure is the water theme park of this segment, it’s one of the most popular water parks of Dubai, therefore it may get quite crowded at times. Aquaventure has several different attractions for young and old for everyone to enjoy the beauty of activities in the water. Aquaventure has its water slides, river slides, its Young Kids section, its beach, the Aquaventure Beach when you feel like having a great swim in the sea.

Out of the water slides, it is the Ziggurat, which is the most attractive for many, most of the time featured as the trademark of Aquaventure. In the middle of the Ziggurat that looks authentic, there is a great water slide, which is not normal, but a twist and turn slide and it will bring you straight into a beautiful blue pool full of sharks of different species such as bow mouth sharks, guitar sharks, and grey reef sharks. You will though not experience the meeting with them face-to-face because a fully transparent tube will suck you. You will be underwater in-between these beautiful sea-fishes while traveling on the tube ending up in a beautiful lagoon. As the underwater tunnel is sometimes putting you, in complete darkness, this journey is thrilling and not for those who get scared easily.

There are other great rides at Aquaventure though worth trying. The Rapids takes you on a quick-pace river ride and the Torrent River is a great 600-meter long journey with one-meter large waves taking you down on a tropical river making you feel you are in the heart of a jungle. These journeys are not for smaller children, for them it is the Splash Area and the Water Playground is the best fun place to be. The beachside of Aquaventure means a great 700-meter long private beach where you can have a great time all the same.

When talking about Aquaventure we cannot miss out to say a few words about the Lost Chambers either. Lost Chambers is an inevitable place for those who have an interest in museums, interesting exhibitions, and some history. The Lost Chambers state none other than holding the ruins and remains most likely originated from Atlantis as they contain such forms and shapes which according to the scientists belong to no living or extinct civilization on Earth. The exhibition is beautiful; it is fully underwater and made to be interesting and entertaining also for children.

Aquaventure is a great and combined attraction inside Atlantis the Palm hotel and it is a must-visit even if you do not wish to use its slides but to visit the Lost Chambers or the Dolphin Bay. Aquaventure is a great family program though and if you are with family it is for sure that, you will return here very soon.
